CHG is offering a $1000 reward to anyone who can provide information and testimony leading to the apprehension and conviction under the CHG Bylaws of the persons who perpetrated thefts and vandalism of the items described below at the recent Camp Roberts Battle on Saturday evening, April 21, 2007. A brown tarp covering the 12th S.S. Half Track was taken off the Half Track at Training Areas T and U. Additionally, the 12th’s field kitchen outside their barracks was vandalized and the cooking equipment stolen. During the vandalism, food from pots was poured onto valuable German motorcycles.
The CHG Board discussed this despicable incident at its April 29th Board Meeting and unanimously condemned it and approved the offer of a $1000 reward for information leading to the apprehension, conviction and expulsion of the persons who perpetrated these thefts and vandalism. The informants will not remain anonymous, but will be required to testify against the individuals or produce other witnesses willing to testify against the perpetrators in order to claim the $1000 reward. These expulsion proceedings will be conducted under CHG’s Bylaws and not in a criminal court of law.
The acts of these cowardly thieves and vandals are unworthy of CHG membership and are almost without precedent in CHG’s nearly 30-year history. Such acts against any unit of CHG will not be tolerated and the individuals, when identified and expelled, will be banned for life from attendance at CHG events, regardless of whether they join other recognized re-enactment organizations eligible to attend our events.
Please contact CHG Chairman Stan Wolcott with any information you have at (714) 641-3421 (work), (949) 559-8319 (home) or luckyforward@earthlink.net. Your involvement will be universally praised by law-abiding CHG members and financially rewarded! Please step forward with any information regarding this incident as soon as possible!
